Gerald Nicosia is best-known for two large nonfiction books, Memory Babe: A Critical Biography of Jack Kerouac and Home to War: A History of the Vietnam Veterans’ Movement, which was picked by the Los Angeles Times as one of the Best Books of 2001. For three decades, from the 1980’s through the 2000’s, he reviewed books regularly for many major American newspapers, including the Los Angeles Times, the San Francisco Chronicle, the Chicago Tribune, and the Washington Post. He has also read his poetry widely both in the U.S. and abroad.
