An Oscar-quality film in many ways, very well acted.

This Wednesday, the Lionsgate film “Anniversary” opened in theaters nationwide. It is a must see, as it is a very timely and powerful but terrifying film that will keep you up at night more than any Halloween horror film ever would.

“Anniversary” stars Diane Lane and Kyle Chandler as the parents of four children, one of whom becomes engaged to a beautiful but strange woman who writes a book that she hopes will change the world. It does, in ways that tear apart the family and lead to tragic consequences for them and possibly all of us.

I can say little more about the plot without ruining the film, which is produced by Nick Wechsler, Steve and Paula Mae Schwartz of Chockstone Pictures, and Kate Churchill. The screenplay was written by Lori Rosene-Gambino and the film was directed by Jan Komasa.

An Oscar-quality film in many ways, very well acted.
