Meet Jerri Blank, a 46 year old high school dropout. In her own words, "I was a boozer, a user, and a loser‐‐but now I'm back in school, and picking my life up exactly where I left off!" Erm, congratulations? Anyway, that's the premise of this off beat, twisted little comedy created and written by Amy Sedaris, Stephen Colbert, and Paul Dinello, which serves as prequel to their cult Comedy Central show. While adjusting to her new old life as a high school freshman, Jerri signs up for the Science Fair in hopes of reviving her comatose father. The Science Fair is of course a glittery choreographed extravaganza, and the rival team has brought in a ringer (Matthew Broderick, who promises to provide
plenty of "pizazz!")
